If You Moved Away Tomorrow…

March 4, 2026

I have been thinking about this lately.

Happy Valley is not short on things to do. In fact, there may be more happening here than ever before. Live music. Arts. Nonprofits doing meaningful work. Restaurants stepping up their game. Trails and outdoor spaces that people drive hours to experience. Penn State energy that still makes this place special.

Yet I hear a version of the same comment over and over.

“I had no idea that was happening.”

So before we build anything new, I want to ask something simple.

If you moved away from Happy Valley Tomorrow, what would you miss most?

What are the five places, traditions, or experiences that truly matter to you?

Is it a night when 70 people are singing All Good People together, even if most of you just met?
A trail you return to every fall?
A nonprofit event that reminds you why this place feels different?
A downtown ritual or a favorite local spot where you bring friends when they come back for a big Penn State weekend?
A place that slowly becomes part of your routine?

I believe this region has something rare. But we need to see it clearly to protect it and strengthen it.

This short survey takes less than two minutes. Your answers will help us map what makes Happy Valley worth staying for and worth coming back to.

Next week we will share what the community says matters most.

Happy Valley is more than game days. It is the everyday connections that matter.

Let’s name them.
