Community takes center stage this week. Whether it’s gathering for a neighborhood concert, supporting a local nonprofit, cheering on athletes, exploring the outdoors, or catching up with friends over live music, there are plenty of opportunities to connect.
One event we’re especially looking forward to is Penn State Rise Above’s We Are Family event on Saturday at The Penn Stater Hotel & Conference Center, supporting Penn State Adaptive Athletics.
With the State College Spikes returning home for a full slate of games and promotions along with concerts, outdoor adventures, trivia nights, and family activities, there’s plenty happening all week long.
Community
Tonight, meet new people IRL at Offline Happy Valley | Hello Social in downtown State College. Crafts & Brews from Boal City Brewing will also be there with free craft supplies.
On Thursday and Friday, stop by the Student Farm Summer Plant Sale, then enjoy Saturday Sampling at Tait Farm over the weekend.
Saturday features two great opportunities to support local organizations. Penn State Rise Above’s We Are Family fundraiser celebrates Penn State Adaptive Athletics, while the Bellefonte Art Museum’s annual Monet’s Picnic brings together art, food, and community in support of the museum.
Sunday features the Happy Birthday America! Museum Tour and Social at Boal Mansion, while Crafts & Brews at Boal City Brewing wraps up the community fun on Monday evening.
Live Entertainment
Things get started tonight with Live After 5, as The Scrappers perform in downtown State College.
Thursday brings Coal Aly and Beatlemania Again to Tussey Mountain WingFest, along with Mijangos, Hart, Heim & Barcellos at Pine Grove Hall.
Friday’s lineup includes Anna Pearl Belinda at 814 Cider Works, Joel Stover at Axemann Brewery, Honey Pie at Titan Hollow, The Extractors at Pine Grove Hall, the Lemont Village Green concert featuring Acoustic Artifacts/OverheaD with Eileen Christman, and Happy Valley Improv at Blue Brick Theatre.
Saturday keeps the music going with Free Range at 814 Cider Works, The Price Sisters in The Attic, Ted McCloskey at Boal City Brewing, and Groove Society at Pine Grove Hall.
Round out the weekend on Sunday with The Scrappers at Axemann Brewery, Billy Price Band at Pine Grove Hall, The Lone Bellow with Walker Burroughs at The State Theatre, Bellefonte’s Summer Sounds featuring Deacons of Dixieland, Miss Melanie and the Groove Society at the South Hills Summer Music Series, or Moonstock with the Coal Aly Band.

Get outside today with Centred Outdoors and a guided paddle on Lake Perez. Unwind with yoga midday at Yoga & Mindfulness at the Palmer Museum or this evening with Yoga in the Gardens at the Arboretum.
On Thursday, take a Morning Bird Walk at Bald Eagle State Park or Walk & Talk with AAUW in Boalsburg.
For nighttime adventures, take a UV Night Hike at Black Moshannon State Park on Saturday.

The State College Spikes are home all week with a number of special promotional nights. Highlights include Comic-Con & Star Wars Night on Friday and Meet Bluey Night on Sunday, with additional promotions throughout the homestand.
Saturday brings the Flutopia Initiative Family Concert, while Sunday’s Sensory-Friendly Hours at the Palmer Museum offer a quieter museum experience.
Monday’s PA Paleo program at the Arboretum continues the fun, followed by Nature Sketching and Recycling Fun on Tuesday.

Kick off the week tonight with Trivia Night at Pine Grove Hall or head to Axemann Brewery for Cornhole or Trivia.
Thursday features Thursday Night Trivia at Big Spring Spirits and a Brewery Tour & Brewer’s Dinner at Axemann Brewery. You can also catch Movie Night at the Penn State Student Farm.
On the Horizon
The State Games of America open at Bryce Jordan Center next week, bringing thousands of athletes and visitors to the region.
