So Much Happening This Week in Happy Valley: Here’s Where to Start

By The Connect Happy Valley Crew | April 22, 2026

If your head feels like it’s spinning a little this week, you’re not alone. It’s one of those weeks where you could easily fill every night without trying.

What stands out, though, is how much of it connects back to Penn State. Living here means we have direct access to a variety of high quality events on campus. On any given week, that can mean everything from stadium events to classical concerts and enriching talks. This week is a good example of just how much that adds to the rhythm of the area.

🏟️ Campus Highlights

PSU anchors the week with a wide mix of events that span everything from large-scale traditions to smaller, experience-driven programs.

Thursday’s Night at the Museums opens up campus spaces for an evening of exploration, giving people the chance to move between exhibits, talks, and interactive programming all in one night . It’s one of those events that reminds you how much is happening just beneath the surface year-round.

Friday brings the Earth Day Birthday at the Penn State Student Farm.

Saturday, of course, is Blue-White Practice at Beaver Stadium, one of the biggest weekends of the spring and a defining moment in the Penn State calendar .

And on Sunday, the Paterno Family Beaver Stadium Run adds a different kind of energy to campus, blending tradition, community, and participation in a way that’s unique to this area .

Layered on top of all of that is the ongoing lineup of performances, concerts, and exhibitions coming out of the College of Arts and Architecture. It’s easy to overlook, but it’s part of what makes living here special.

Friday night, Killer Queen, a tribute to Queen, takes the stage at the State Theatre, offering a high-energy, familiar set that tends to draw a wide crowd . Then on Sunday, Duane Betts & Palmetto Motel perform.

On Sunday, Scott Ainslie brings a Workshop & Show to Pine Grove Hall, offering a full afternoon and evening centered on country blues. The event begins with a hands-on session exploring open tunings, followed by an intimate performance in the upstairs listening room that blends storytelling with traditional and original music

You’ll also find live music spread across venues like Manny’s and Titan Hollow throughout the week, continuing the steady rhythm of local and regional performances .

🎭 Arts, Theatre & Experiences

Tonight, Trivia Night at Pine Grove Hall returns, a consistent and well-attended gathering that blends a little competition with a social night out.

Penn State’s Commencement Weekend takes place in early May, bringing a noticeable shift in town as families arrive, campus venues fill, and the academic year officially comes to a close.

The Commonwealth Concert Series arrives at the Bryce Jordan Center on May 23, for a free concert as part of the America250 programming.

Just a few days after that, Journey takes the stage at the Bryce Jordan Center on May 27, adding another high-profile show to the late-spring lineup.
